Ms. Danner was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland--home of the blue fin crab, the blue heron, pony penning in Chincoteague, Virginia, James Michener's Chesapeake, and Marguerite Henry's Misty of Chincoteague.

From Maryland she went to West Virginia to study for a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene. She returned to school in 1988 to earn an MS and an EdS degree in counseling. She taught graduate level students in counseling techniques, supervised counseling interns and continues to provide mental health counseling to children, adolescents and adults.

Her mental health experience includes specialized work with rape and abuse survivors and mental health advocacy groups. She has over fifteen years experience working with a variety of issues including depression and anxiety using insight oriented therapy.

With a blend of cognitive/behavioral and humanistic techniques, Ms. Danner also works with couples focusing on relationship issues. She is skilled in helping people learn to manage stress and anger using brief therapy techniques and has developed and co-developed several learning modules in the areas of anger management, weight management, intimacy, parenting and exercise.
